1. What are cookies and similar technologies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you use a website. Browser storage (localStorage), pixels (invisible elements that send information about your visit) and scripts used by analytics and advertising tools work in a similar way. In this policy, we refer to all of these as ‘cookies’.
Cookies may be first-party (stored by monerahome.com) or third-party (e.g. Google, Meta, TikTok, Microsoft). They may be session cookies (which are deleted when you close your browser) or persistent cookies (which are stored for a specified period).
2. Legal basis
In accordance with Article 399 of the Electronic Communications Act, we may only use cookies that are strictly necessary for the website to function without your consent. We only activate analytical and marketing cookies once you have given your consent via the banner. We process personal data collected in this way in accordance with the principles set out in our privacy policy.
3. Categories of cookies
- Essential — these ensure the website functions properly and remains secure, and they remember your selection in the banner. They are always active.
- Analytics — these help us understand how you use the website: which pages you view, where you click, and which devices you use to access it. This enables us to improve the content and design.
- Marketing — these allow us to measure whether an advert has led to a contact, show you our offers on other websites (remarketing) and reach people with similar interests.
4. How consent works
- Until a selection is made in the banner, no analytics or advertising tools are activated.
- You can accept all of them, reject the optional ones, or select categories in ‘Settings’.
- We use Google’s Consent Mode (v2) — Google’s tools are notified of your decision and will not set advertising or analytics cookies without your consent.
- We’ll remember your choice for 12 months, after which we’ll ask you again.
- We only track the fact that contact has been made (e.g. a click on WhatsApp or a form being submitted); we never track the content of the form or your contact details.
5. How to change or withdraw your consent
Click ‘Cookie settings’ in the footer of any page. Once you have withdrawn your consent, we will delete the analytics and marketing cookies stored by our website and refresh the page to stop these tools from working.
You can also delete and block cookies in your browser settings: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge. Blocking essential cookies may make it difficult to use the website.
Regardless of our website, you can limit personalised adverts in your account settings on Google, Meta and TikTok.
6. Embedded content
- YouTube videos only load once you click ‘play’ in enhanced privacy mode (youtube-nocookie.com). Once you click, Google may store its own data on your device.
- The maps on the listing pages are sourced from OpenStreetMap. When a map is displayed, your IP address is sent to the map server; OpenStreetMap does not store advertising cookies.
- The fonts are hosted on our server — we do not connect to Google Fonts for this purpose.
